ГОТИЧЕСКАЯ АРХИТЕКТУРА В АНГЛИЙСКОЙ КНИЖНОЙ ГРАФИКЕ XVII ВЕКА

Аннотация

Образы средневековой архитектуры приобретают в английской тиражной графике XVII в. особое значение, готика становится своеобразной отсылкой к традиции и прошлому, обладающей бесспорной положительной коннотацией. Историческое наследие свидетельствует о древности рода и силе власти. Хорографические трактаты, направленные на описание земель Британии, способствуют развитию антикварных пристрастий, формируют интерес к региональной истории, к культурной памяти. Сочинения, посвящённые английским землям и местным достопримечательностям, снабжены визуальными рядами, отражающими приоритеты издателя и заказчика. Наиболее характерными типами иллюстраций становятся достоверные и тщательные изображения известных построек, панорамные виды имений, ведуты, воспроизводящие городскую среду. Доминирует техника офорта. Научная иллюстрация совмещает стремление к обстоятельному описанию конкретного сооружения и обобщённую трактовку пейзажа, где архитектурный мотив подчинён движению в пространстве. В гравюрах Венцеля Холлара к изданиям Уильяма Дагдейла «Древности Уорикшира», «Собор Святого Павла в Лондоне» и “Monasticon Anglicanum” внимание уделено готической архитектуре храмов. Тома Дэвида Логгана, посвящённые Оксфорду и Кембриджу, совмещают карты, планы и чертежи с изображениями городских видов, архитектурных комплексов и отдельных сооружений. Панорамный пейзаж со стаффажными фигурами и изображениями узнаваемых силуэтов готических построек развивается в творчестве Иоганна Кипа и Леонарда Ниффа, виды средневековых руин появляются в графике Джона Слезера. Характерными приёмами изображения готической архитектуры в XVII в. становятся выработка устойчивого корпуса типов сооружений, подчинение средневековых памятников современным эстетическим представлениям, формирование системы узнаваемых мотивов, указывающих на принадлежность постройки эпохе Средневековья.
